Who are GIN?
We want to achieve gender balance for all
The Gender Inclusion Network – affectionately known as GIN – is an insurance industry network aiming to achieve gender balance for all. We use our position in the industry to offer insightful events, informative content and inspiring access to advocates, allies and mentors who work hard to promote inclusion.
GIN membership is free and open to anyone from across the insurance industry – regardless of gender – or anyone considering a career in the market. We want all our members to feel empowered to take positive action in improving gender balance within our industry.
In November 2020 we were crowned winners of the contribution to inclusion award at the Women in Insurance Awards. This recognition is an acknowledgment of the hard work and dedication of all our volunteer committee members, our ambassadors and executive sponsors, and every person that has attended a GIN event, read one of our blogs, or signed up to our newsletter.
We simply wouldn’t have been able to do any of this without all of you so a huge thank you for making this a reality. We also couldn’t have been recognised in this way without the dedication and support of our committee, who all volunteer to make GIN the reality, and success, that it is today. Our objectives
Our volunteer committee work throughout the year to achieve gender equality for everyone in the insurance industry, regardless of gender. We have identified four key objectives to work on but recognise that true inclusion will need the full force of our committee, ambassadors, sponsors, members and the industry as a whole to make this a reality.
Drive change
Instigate and drive tangible change in the industry to further advance gender balance, focusing on supporting junior employees to middle management;
Collaborate
Collaborate and partner across the insurance market to elevate gender equality;
Community
Act as a wider resource and ‘go to’ place for anyone wanting to network across the insurance industry with like-minded people who are focused on gender inclusion; and
Educate
Work as a group of constituent gender networks within the industry to share and leverage best practices.
